James Kochalka will appear
with his band, James Kochalka Superstar, at the Book Release Party and Art Show
for Danny Hellman's Legal Action Comics beginning at 6 p.m. at CBGB's 313 Gallery,
313 Bowery between First and Second streets, New York City. Also appearing will
be the bands Human Lard Dog & The Band of Shy and Mz. Pacman. The art show
will feature by lithographs, silkscreen prints and original work by contributors
to Legal Action Comics. Contributors include Robert Crumb, art spiegelman, Robert Williams, Kim Deitch, Mary Fleener, Gary Panter, Spain Rodriguez,
Jay Lynch, Tony Millionaire, Kaz, Julie Doucet, James Kochalka and others. The
art will be displayed through August 18. Admission is free from 6-9 p.m.; $5
after 9 p.m. (the bands don't begin playing until after 9 p.m.).
