Morrison Returns Exclusively to DC By Beth Hannan Rimmels It was announced at this weekend's Comic-Con International: San Diego that writer Grant Morrison (The Filth, The Invisibles, JLA, New X-Men) has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics. Morrison currently work for DC is the upcoming Vertigo miniseries Vimanarama with artist Phillip Bond, though there are plans for Morrison to also work within the DC Universe on other projects. "It's great to be back home, and I can't wait to get down to business," said Morrison. "With several new and original series in the works, as well as a ton of ideas about how to take some of DC's rich and fertile characters in 'bold, new' directions, there's simply nowhere else I'd rather be right now. I hereby and humbly declare the opening of the next major chapter in the history of comic books!" "Grant is one of the foremost creative forces in comics," says Karen Berger, vice president and executive editor of Vertigo. "He's a rare breed of a writer who brings a unique and powerful voice to both his creator-owned work and company-owned characters. We couldn't be more thrilled to have him to ourselves." The announcement did not mention if an exemption was made that would allow Morrison to continue work on New X-Men. Such exemptions are not uncommon when a creator already has a prior deal.
