Pfeifer Dials Up DC for 2 More Years

By Beth Hannan Rimmels

Will Pfeifer, writer of the DC Universe series H-E-R-O, has signed a two-year exclusive contract with DC Comics. Pfeifer is also scheduled to take over writing chores on Aquaman starting with issue #15, which will be solicited in the December issue of Previews for February 2004 delivery.

"Ever since I was a kid, making my own comic books with a ballpoint pen and typing paper, I've wanted to be a real-life, honest-to-gosh comic book writer. Now I get to think up stories set in the same world as Gotham City and Metropolis," said Pfeifer. "I'm jazzed about getting to write Aquaman. He's a super-hero, but with some real differences from the rest of the crowd, and we're going to kick off my run with a bang. It's actually more than a bang - it's... well, you'll just have to wait and see. It's going to put Aquaman in a whole new role that forces him to call upon both sides of his personality - super-hero and undersea ruler."

"We feel that Will Pfeifer is one of the true rising stars in comics," says Dan DiDio, DC's vice president of editorial. "His work on H-E-R-O continues to break new ground with every story arc, and we're looking forward to him bringing his exciting style of storytelling to Aquaman."
