Norrington Picks Up Hammer of God DreamWorks Pictures has acquired epic kung fu action/adventure project Hammer of God for Stephen Norrington (the upcoming Blade 2). The film will re-team Norrington with Michael De Luca, who is now head of production for DreamWorks. De Luca oversaw Norrington's 1998 hit Blade. God is set in the 1580s and features a Jesuit priest who travels to China with the Portuguese armada and ends up caught in the middle of a war between the emperor of China and the Shaolin temple. The priest undergoes a mystical transformation that leads him to become a Shaolin monk and pushes him into a confrontation with both the Chinese Imperial army and the Portuguese conquistadors. |
