A new contender has appeared in the bidding war for the TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar. Twentieth-Century Fox, the production company behind the show, is negotiating with UPN to possibly acquire the popular once the contract with The WB runs out this spring. Fox is also negotiating with The WB and NBC. ABC was initially interested but has since dropped out. The WB had an exclusive window for negotiations but that ran out in February, allowing Fox to consider offers from other networks.
