Linsner, O'Barr Make Peregrine's Wish Peregrine Entertainment scored a coup for its third annual issue of Independent Voices. The wraparound cover for the issue, which benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will be a collaboration between fan favorites and the critically acclaimed Joseph Michael Linsner (Dawn) and James O'Barr (The Crow).
Independent Voices #3 features stories by Richard Pini (Elfquest), Steve Conley (Astounding Space Thrills) and Steve Stegelin (Boondoggle) and art by Carla Speed-McNeil (Finder from Lightspeed Press), Jason Alexander (Empty Zone from Sirius Entertainment), and Vince Sneed and John Peters (Forty Winks from Peregrine Entertainment). Peregrine has already auctioned the original Linsner/O'Barr cover painting for Independent Voices #3 at the Pittsburgh Comicon's Make-A-Wish Foundation auction on April 28, 2001. It's unusual to do such a thing more than two months before the actual comic book is released, but the auction and other fundraisers at the convention raised more than $35,000 for Make-A-Wish. Independent Voices #3 is a black-and-white, 48-page comic book that will retail for $2.95 in July. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Since its founding in 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted a wish more than 83,000 wishes, one wish for every qualified child referred to them from around the world. |
